A place to discuss all things related to a career as a nurse practitioner.
About
Hello there! Thanks for stopping by--
My name is Sophia. I'm a nurse practitioner student at the University of Pennsylvania. I've been an ICU nurse for 6 years and currently work in a post anesthesia care unit (PACU).
This blog is a place for me to share my journey through grad school while juggling the demands of 3 young kids. I'll talk about 'All Things NP' related and encourage you to do the same. I'll discuss everything from the Affordable Healthcare Act to the most comfortable shoes to wear while in clinical and everything in between.
When I'm not in class, clinical, working or studying (of course I always study with 35 textbooks) I am running around and trying to quell the chaos that comes with raising 3 young kids (ages 5 yr, 3 1/2 yr and 2 yr).
My hope is that this blog will inspire and educate readers about a career as a nurse practitioner.

Hi Sophia-
I found your blog after doing some online research on the PENN NP program. I am applying for the summer 2013 term for the psych NP program. I appreciate your blog as I have been looking for an "insiders view" of this program and have found it to be most helpful. Thank you so much for posting your experience. Maybe I will see you in the hallway next year!

Hey Sophia-
I'm finally doing the RN-BSN so I can tackle the FNP program…a goal of mine for a long time. Thanks for taking the time to give all of us wannabes some encouragement! I've been an ER nurse for 16+ years and I'm ready for some autonomy. Good luck in school.
